The Woodland Living Course

A two-day overnight Bushcraft course for YOU in YOUR woodland

Price on application - Please Contact Us

This course is for owners of woodland, whether newly purchased or long-owned. Using our years of expertise running Bushcraft and other outdoor courses we will come to you and your piece of land to help you:
  • Identify suitable places to construct a camp or other shelter
  • Identify the trees, plants and other wildlife in your woodland
  • Learn how to light a fire safely without matches, cook over a campfire and manage other aspects of woodland living
  • Locate and make safe drinking water, if available
We will arrange a suitable date and meet you at your woodland, bringing with us equipment for creating a temporary overnight camp, cooking equipment, food etc. Our experienced and knowledgable instructor will then work with you to help you discover what possibilities are available to you on your own piece of land.

This is not an arboreal or woodland management course.

Course Content:

  • Safe use of knives
  • Firelighting techniques - in depth
  • Shelter building
  • Water purification techniques
  • Navigation skills
  • Camp sanitation
  • Cutting tool selection, use and care
  • Campsite crafts
  • Campfire cooking and wild foods (season permitting)
  • A general overview of living in a woodland camp

You get:

  • Experienced and knowledgable outdoor instructors
  • A Mora 840 MG bushcraft knife (over 18s only)
  • A Light my Fire Firesteel
  • All food and drink required for the weekend - you still need to cook it though!
  • A fantastic and memorable couple of days
  • Photos from your course on DVD (posted out afterwards)

You need to bring:

  • Warm clothing, waterproofs and good footwear (older clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and smelling of woodsmoke!)
  • A sleeping bag and rollmat of some kind
  • Headtorch
  • Survival bag / bivvy bag if you have one
  • Sense of Humour (very important)
